4-day Palisade Peach Festival boasts long list of activities

Celebrate the sweet, juicy Palisade peach for four delicious days at the upcoming Palisade Peach Festival.

The festivities will start Thursday, Aug. 19, with an ice cream social and street dance from 6–9 p.m. in downtown Palisade and continue through Sunday, Aug. 22.

Thursday through Sunday there will be tours offered at various orchards, vineyards, wineries, breweries and a distillery.

On Friday and Saturday the festival moves to Riverbend Park with vendors, music, peach cuisine, a tug-of-war contest and entertainment. Arrive early and receive a free peach.

Admission each day is $4 for adults, $3 for children ages 6–12, and those ages 5 and younger are free.

Live entertainment also will be going on in the Palisade Town Center Plaza from 5:30–10 p.m. Friday.

Saturday morning will begin with the Lions Club pancake breakfast at Palisade Memorial Park and the peach recipe contest.

The Peach Festival parade will wind its way through downtown Palisade beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday and the Just 4 Fun Car Show will be set up at Peach Bowl Park from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be bike tours and Colorado River float trips on Saturday and Sunday, and The Peach Fest Pedal-Paddle-Pedal and farmers market on Sunday.
