All-women seminar set for Saturday

Becky Manley of Colorado Parks and Wildlife offers a lesson in shotgunning during a women-only shooting seminar. A similar women-only “Cast, Blast and Twang” seminar is offered Saturday in Grand Junction.

Forget the pressure. Women learn better when they are among their peers.

“Many ladies want to hunt or fish, but they don’t have a mentor,” said Kathleen Tadvick, education coordinator for Colorado Parks and Wildlife. “This class is perfect for them because it teaches the fundamentals of fly fishing, archery and the safe use of shotguns in a comfortable, women-only environment.”

The class is Parks and Wildlife’s “Cast, Blast and Twang” clinic set for 8 a.m. to mid-afternoon Saturday.

It’s a women-only introduction to the basics of shotgunning, archery and fly fishing, with instruction and equipment provided by experienced outdoors instructors.

Classes are limited, register today.

Leave the boyfriend/husband behind. You can give him a few lessons when you get home.
