Barneloppet Kids’ Race is this weekend on Grand Mesa

You don’t have to be Norwegian to enjoy the annual Barneloppet Kids’ Race this Saturday at Skyway Nordic Area on Grand Mesa.

Hosted by the Vestafjell Lodge of the Sons of Norway, the day includes free lessons and races, varying in length from one kilometer to five kilometers, for all young skiers 3 to 16 years of age.

Equipment is available (see registration information below) and everyone gets a bib and a medal.

You can, however, practice your Norwegian. For starters, “Vestafjell” means “West of the Mountains.”

You’ll have to ask the Norwegians for more.
