DENVER — Skiers and snowboarders are getting ready to soar off a giant, snow-covered ramp in downtown Denver.

The Denver Big Air competition begins tonight when skiers get a chance to launch off the 101-foot-tall ramp built across from the Denver City and County building.

Snowboarders from around the world will compete Wednesday in an event sanctioned by the World Cup.

The event kicks off the SnowSports Industries America Snow Show in Denver. Organizers say it’s the largest trade show of its kinds and will bring 19,000 international delegates to Colorado.
