Bust a lung at race April 5 on Grand Mesa

Not that this sounds physically demanding or anything, but why else would anyone name a 50-kilometer (31 miles) ski race at nearly 11,000 feet the “Busted Lung?”

The Grand Mesa Nordic Council wants to put you to the test with the inaugural Busted Lung 50K on April 5 on Grand Mesa.

The event is dedicated to helping support the grooming efforts of the Nordic Council, which each winter spends 80 percent, close to $40,000, of its annual budget providing free, public Nordic skiing.

Making a donation or simply renewing your GMNC membership will be less taxing, but not nearly as much fun.
