Earl P. Jones, 94, Grand Junction, died March 20, 2010, at Hospice Care Center. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Mr. Jones was a petroleum lab technician.
Survivors include two sons, Stanley E. and Richard E., both of Grand Junction; one daughter, Garry E. Franklin of Cedaredge; one brother, John of Paso Robles, Calif.; and two sisters, Evelyn Shifford of Santa Clarita, Calif., and Maxine Bartz of Grand Junction.

Mercedes “Merce” Oglesby, 88, Salida, died March 17, 2010. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Taylor Funeral Service Chapel in Hotchkiss. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Crawford.
Survivors include one son, Jim of Salida; two brothers, Lawrence “Dollar” MacKendrick of Hotchkiss and Donald MacKendrick of Grand Junction; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Edmund Dinis, a former prosecutor who lost his bid for re-election in Massachusetts after his handling of the case against Sen. Edward M. Kennedy in the accidental drowning of Mary Jo Kopechne on Chappaquiddick Island in 1969, died March 14 in Dartmouth, Mass. He was 85.
