Drug purchase near school leads to 8 arrests in Glenwood
Eight people have been arrested in connection with an investigation that began with an undercover drug purchase from a home across the street from Glenwood Springs High School.
The multijurisdictional Two Rivers Drug Enforcement Team said Friday it conducted the undercover purchase of MDMA, or ecstasy, and Smiles, another drug with psychedelic effects, on Jan. 9. It then opened an investigation to target the source of the drug supply and additional dealers. Over five months it made purchases that also included cocaine and LSD, it said. It obtained three search warrants and made arrests April 19 through Thursday.
Those arrested on suspicion of drug possession and distribution include:
■ Glenwood Springs residents Eric Kneipper, 21; Marc Merchant, 29; Christopher Pacchioli-Dardynski, 19; Bradley Rice, 22; and Katelin Wirth, 19.
■ Joshua Tello, 39, of New Castle.
■ Jesse Tello, 39, of Rifle.
Mike Casto, 51, of Rifle was arrested on suspicion of having conspired to distribute cocaine.
The charges are all felonies.
