Fly Fishing Film Tour will electrify anglers

Crossing an ancient suspension bridge is just one of the challenges facing anglers headed to Tusheti, the historic region in the Caucasus Mountains of northeast Georgia. This and other destinations are shown in the Fly Fishing Film Tour presentation April 5 at Mesa Theater and Club.

Below on this page you’ll see a note about Joel Evans’ presentation Thursday night called “Colorado Kaleidoscope.”

It’s a fitting title as Evans changes photos, scenes, locales and just about everything (including flies) as quickly as that rotating kid’s toy once changed your immediate outlook on life.

Another change anglers are sure to enjoy is the 2013 Fly Fishing Film Tour, a panoply of fishing videos set to appear April 5 in Grand Junction at the Mesa Theater and Club, 538 Main St..

“We’ve worked really hard on creating an electrifying experience for our fans,” said F3T co-owner Doug Powell. “The atmosphere we create at our premiers with HD projectors, booming soundtracks, tons of giveaways, interactive booths and cheering fans is not easily replicated and unique to the industry.”

This year’s show is expected to be seen in 125-plus cities in the U.S.,Canada and Mexico and reach as many as 40,000 avid anglers.

The two-hour show includes hard-wrought footage from favorite places such as Montana, Florida, and Idaho as well as Scotland, Bahamas, Belize and New Zealand, to name a few.

“We’ve got incredible footage from our favorite backyard locales and we’ve got amazing segments from destinations,” said F3T filmmaker and road manager Thad Robinson.

“But on top of that is the unique stories that are told along the way,” Robinson said. “It’s about doing what you love.”

Tickets, schedules and film trailers are available online at http://www.theF3T.com or locally at Western Anglers Fly Shop, 411 Main St.
