Head to Ridgway for free daylong River Festival
What do a living river, a bicycle-powered margarita blender and a whitewater kayak rodeo have in common?
They all are part of the 2013 (and sixth annual) Ridgway River Festival, set for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Ridgway’s Rollans Park.
The Uncompahgre Watershed Partnership, a nonprofit coalition dedicated to restoring and preserving the many values of the Uncompahgre River watershed, and the nonprofit, multidimensional Mosaic Community Project are hosting the free, day-long river festival.
The event includes a whitewater rodeo and downriver races, a watershed information tent, and, since this is a river rat-centric event, there will be live music, local food vendors and a beverage tent.
And don’t forget to say “Hey” to Glenda the Blenda, the human-powered margarita blender.
