It’s all about color in the high country
Powderhorn Mountain Resort will heartily welcome the change in seasons with a Fall Fest and Color Weekend, two weekends of brilliant color, local music and activities for all.
Fall Fest will go from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22–23, at the resort, 48338 Powderhorn Road, on Grand Mesa. Desert Moon will perform from 1–4 p.m. on Saturday and Pineapple Crackers from 1–4 p.m. Sunday on the sunset deck.
Color Weekend events at Powderhorn will go from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 29–30. A disc golf tournament is planned for Saturday, Sept. 29, and the Thigunawat 10k Trail and Adventure Challenge will be Color Sunday, Sept. 30. Proceeds from the challenge will benefit Powderhorn Racing Club and the Western Slope Center for Children. Learn about the challenge at colorsundaychallenge.com or call 245-3788.
Live music on Saturday, Sept. 29, will be provided by Honey Don’t and on Sunday, Sept. 30, the Pineapple Crackers will play.
Lift rides will be offered both weekends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $15 for adults, $8 for ages 10 and younger. Along with free camping, there will be family photos, disc golf, kid’s activities, food and drinks both weekends.

Colorado Mesa University is running a free bus both days for its students, picking up at 11:30 a.m. near the Mav Center and returning at 5 p.m. from Powderhorn’s lodge.
