Learn from backpacking pros

It seems at least half of this cheerful couple is enjoying life in a tent, but Dave and Elizabeth Barry are experienced backpackers eager to share their wisdom and knowledge. Get a taste of what backpacking has to offer at their seminar April 6.

Yes, that was snow on the ground Saturday morning but apparently it’s not too cold or too early to think about backpacking.

You know, like sleeping on the ground and carrying your own food and sawing that toothbrush in half to save weight.

Maybe the last is a bit much, but you can find out April 6 when experienced (which sounds better than longtime) backpackers Dave and Elizabeth Barry share their backpacking how-tos with the Western Slope Adventurers.

The date is a ways off, but there is a limit on participants, and these get-togethers fill fast.

Sign on at the Western Slope Adventurers site and start packing that granola.
