Mesa County administrator resigns

Mesa County Administrator Chantal Unfug has resigned, county commissioners announced late this afternoon.

In a two-sentence statement issued around 5:30 p.m., commissioners said they and Unfug had come to a “mutual agreement” on her resignation and thanked her for “her leadership and wish her will in her future endeavors.” Tom Fisher was appointed interim administrator.

Unfug was hired as the county administrator in July 2011. She previously served as the director of the Denver Parks and Recreation Department.
