Missing Boy Scout found safe in Meeker area
A 16-year-old Fruita boy who reportedly went missing in the Meeker area while on a camping trip with fellow Boy Scouts was found Sunday morning unharmed, authorities said.
The boy, who was not identified, called his mother at approximately 8:30 a.m. Sunday to tell her he had “found some people that helped him to the lodge,” which was Trappers Lake Lodge & Resort, a news release from the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Department said.
The boy was reunited with his father, who had joined search efforts to find his son.
