Mounument View section of Riverfront to open

A dream to connect the entire valley with a hike/bike path is another step closer to fruition. And Fruita.

The 8.4-mile Monument View Trail section of the Colorado Riverfront Trail officially opens 11:30 a.m. on Friday with a special ceremony at Walter Walker State Wildlife Area.

The one-hour ceremony includes speakers, refreshments and lots of Riverfront Trail history.

Bring your walking shoes or your bike and be one of the first to ride the 35-mile trail that connects Corn Lake with the Fruita Welcome Center.
