Open House offers hands-on learning at math, science center

Open your house and watch it take flight.

This week’s Outside Connection features an up-close evening with birds during the Open House at the John McConnell Math & Science Center, 2660 Unaweep Ave.

The Grand Valley Audubon Society is presenting this rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience with birds, bird-banding, flight and other science-based exhibits at the McConnell Center.

It’s open to all and almost free — a small ($5) donation is requested, and you can stay until they chase you out.

Or until you decide to migrate to other places.

IF YOU GO

WHAT: Open House at the nonprofit John McConnell Math & Science Center of Western Colorado.

WHEN: Monday, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

WHERE: 2660 Unaweep Ave., the New Emerson School.
