Ski resorts offer springtime specials
Gee, where did the winter go?
When we looked up last fall it was snowing 6 inches in Grand Junction and Christmas still was a month away. Now, it’s 70 degrees, the daffodils are blooming and there are skiers wearing shorts on the ski slopes.
Spring skiing is some of the best of the season and most resorts are making it easy for you to enjoy the last few weeks with special deals on lift tickets, lodging and equipment sales.
Take advantage of some new snow along with last-weekend specials at Powderhorn Resort, which shuts down the 2008-2009 ski season at 5 p.m. Sunday. Saturday’s activities include the Slushsprocket Bike Race at 2 p.m., a winner-take-all sprint down the snowy slopes. This may be as much fun to watch as to race.
It’s springtime in the Rockies so grab your boards, a pair of surfer shorts and a truck load of sunscreen and head to the slopes, one more time.
