Powderhorn puts opening day on hold
Powderhorn Ski Resort announced today that it won’t open Thursday as originally scheduled.
No opening date is being announced, said Powderhorn spokeswoman Sarah Allen.
“We made the decision this morning to postpone our opening day,” Allen said. “Right now we can’t make any decisions about (opening) this weekend.”
Allen said resort officials inspected the ski area early this morning and found snow conditions weren’t sufficient to open.
“We’re watching the storm forecast for this week,” she said. “Our staff is on 24-hour notice, so we’ll be ready to open as soon as conditions allow.”
Allen said any opening announcements will be made on the website (http://www.powderhorn.com) as well as the resort’s blog and social media sites.
This will be the resort’s 44th year in operation.
