Powderhorn Ski Patrol having annual swap meet

Two movies will be shown at the Powderhorn National Ski Patrol’s film night in connection with the patrol’s ski and snowboard swap.

“Superheroes of Stoke” and “2112” will be screened starting at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at Avalon Theatre, 645 Main St. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is $15 and includes, a mid-week ski ticket for Powderhorn Ski Resort, a ski ticket for Sunlight Mountain and other coupons.

From Matchstick Productions, “Superheroes of Stoke” “takes a captivating look at the past, present, and future of freeskiing through comprehensive storytelling and engaging first-person perspectives from those who helped change the game,” according to a synopsis.

“2112” is Standard Films’ 21st movie and “showcases snowboarding’s future with new riders, new spots, and next gen thinking,” according to film information.

Looking for a great place to get your ski and boarding gear before the white stuff piles up?

Look no farther than the Powderhorn National Ski Patrol Ski and Snowboard Swap from 6–10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Two Rivers Convention Center.

Admission on Friday is $10 and gets you a free beer from Kannah Creek Brewing Co. or entry into a drawing for lift tickets, lodging and more. Admission on Saturday is $2. Drawings for prizes will continue on Saturday.

A large selection of new and used equipment from dealers and individuals will be for sale at the swap. The consignment area will be operated by the Colorado Mesa University racing team, which invites you to drop off your gear for the team to sell for you.

Early lift passes also will be available for purchase from Powderhorn, Sunlight, Telluride and Crested Butte resorts.
