Grand Valley team heading to state

The Grand Valley Mavericks qualified for the Colorado Amateur Hockey Association state championship next weekend, March 20, by winning the regional tournament in Craig last week.

The Mavericks (29-2-3), an age 8-10 team, are the Rocky Mountain Youth Hockey League champions.

The Mavericks defeated Crested Butte, Ashley Valley (Vernal, Utah), Gunnison and Telluride to win the region title.
