The following road closures and maintenance projects may impact traffic this week:
Fruitvale Sewer Line Replacement: Rood Avenue is closed between 19th and 21st streets Monday through Friday. Local traffic only. The road is open weekends. The project will continue through mid-October.
2011 Sewer Line Replacement Project: The project involves installing a new sanitary sewer line and services to individual properties.
Work is under way in the Hillcrest neighborhood. The sewer mainline will be installed in the road beginning at a point south of 107 Hillcrest and heading east to 122 Hillcrest.
Hillcrest Avenue will be closed to through traffic and will be very restricted by eight to 14-foot deep trenches. Avoid parking in the street. Access will be from the east on Walnut Avenue.
29 Road/Interstate 70 Business Overpass: Construction continues on the 29 Road overpass over the Union Pacific railroad tracks and I-70B. Speed limit in the construction zone is 40 mph — fines are doubled in the work zone.
D Road Sewer Line Replacement Project: For Central Grand Valley Sanitation District in D Road from 30 Road to 31 Road and on 30 Road from D Road to D 1/4 Road. The project has moved north on 30 Road to D 1/4 Road. This project will be completed by the end of November. There will be road closures throughout the duration of the project. Local traffic only will be allowed through the project. Detours will be posted.
The speed limit is reduced to 30 mph in the entire work area. Double fines will be enforced for speeding in the construction area.
