Volunteers needed to help finish work on Quiet Use trail

The Colorado Plateau Mountain Bike Association is looking for volunteers to help finish a new Quiet Use trail on Grand Mesa.

The work, scheduled Aug. 8-9, will push to connect the new Mesa Top Trail from Colorado Highway 65 near the Land’s End Road with the recently finished Flowing Park Trail.

More than seven miles of trail already have been completed, with less than one mile to go.

According to COPMOBA, the Mesa Top Trail offers unparalleled views of the Elk and San Juan mountain ranges as it skirts the edge of Grand Mesa.

The completed trail will offer both riding opportunities for multiple levels of ability.

No trail-building experience is necessary; work crews will be led by experienced trail builders.

All tools and crew leaders will be provided by COPMOBA. Volunteers should wear long pants and bring water, lunch, sunscreen, insect repellant and extra clothing.
