Walleye threaten Red Fleet fishery
The discovery of a healthy population of walleye in Red Fleet Reservoir threatens the future of that popular fishery, said the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources.
Utah fishery biologists say walleye, considered a top predator, will upset the predator-prey relationship within the next few years and eventually the fishery will collapse.
Emergency “no tolerance” regulations in force at Red Fleet require anglers to keep and kill all walleyes they catch.
Red Fleet Reservoir is10 miles north of Vernal on Utah Highway 191.
