Mesa State College Associated Student Government members will sponsor forums at 6 tonight and 6 p.m. Thursday to discuss three potential on-campus tobacco policies.
The meetings will take place in the Wubben Weldon lecture hall.
Students sponsored meetings in September to gather opinions about the possible ban of tobacco on college grounds. Anyone can attend this week’s meetings, during which the three policy drafts will be presented to the public for the first time. Student government members will decide if any of the policies will be adopted.
The college already has a tobacco ban in its buildings and does not allow tobacco in student dormitories or apartments. Outdoor smoking and litter prompted Associated Student Government members to consider a stronger ban.
