Agent Spotlight for Sept. 2, 2012
Lori Maser-Jones
Realtor
RE/MAX 4000
Where were you born? How long have you lived in the Mesa County area? What do you like most about it?
I was born in Montrose and I’ve lived in the Mesa County area for 19 years. I love the variety it has to offer, especially for outdoor recreation. I am still in awe of the Colorado National Monument on a daily basis, Powderhorn ski area is only 45 minutes away & the running & biking locations are endless.
Family:
I am married to Tyler Jones and we have one Son, Brandon who is now 28. We own Rib City Grill in Montrose, which Tyler operates. Brandon was born with cerebral palsy and is an amazing young man. He is one of the most positive individuals that I have ever met & has taught me so much. His favorite sport is ski racing but also loves to raft, camp, fish & is a true “tech head”.
How long have you worked in Real Estate?
About 21 years
What did you do before that?
I worked in the airline industry
What is your specialty and what does that mean for the people you work with?
My main focus is on residential, which includes resale, new construction and lot sales. I also specialize in relocation. However; I feel that my main specialty is working with people and listening to what their wants and needs are and designing a plan that works for that specific person.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy a home?
Find a great agent and lender that you can trust and that will work hard for you. Especially if you are a first time Buyer, it is imperative that you associate yourself with someone that cares & will educate you on the process.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to sell a home?
The same as above but in this market, I think as a Seller you do need an experienced agent that offers great marketing, negotiating and communication skills.
Why should someone choose you as their real estate agent?
When I started my career in the real estate industry, I vowed I would always treat people the way I would want to be treated. With honesty, integrity and respect. Also, I care. I care about what I do, I care about my buyer’s and seller’s situation as a whole, not just on the real estate side. Everyone has a story and I do my best to make their real estate transaction as smooth and positive as possible. The majority of my business is from repeat business and referrals, I hope that speaks for itself.
What do you most enjoy doing when you’re not working?
My main passion is windsurfing. We do manage to find places to windsurf in Colorado but the sport also takes us to other wonderful locations. I also love to telemark ski, run, bike, hike, camp, raft and spend time with my family and friends. I also believe in giving back to my community. I have been involved with Colorado Discover Ability and Special Olympics for many years.
Any final thoughts?
I have been extremely blessed with amazing customers. I thank everyone for your continued support and referrals. I also could not run my business as smoothly as I do without my assistant, Carolyn Futch. Thanks Carolyn — you are awesome!
