Arrest after woman knifed

A suspect was arrested Wednesday after a woman was attacked with a knife in the Coffee Pot Springs area of the Flat Top mountains northeast of Glenwood Springs. The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said the woman reported being cut twice during an altercation with a man Tuesday, and was taken by ambulance to Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs and treated for injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

The Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that the suspect fled down Coffee Pot Springs Road in a vehicle that later was discovered wrecked and abandoned along the road. The Sheriff’s Office responded about 4:30 p.m., along with Eagle County sheriff’s deputies and the Colorado State Patrol.

At 5 a.m. Wednesday, Eagle County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man matching the suspect name and description given by the woman. The man’s name has not yet been released.

 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department:

■ Richard McCain, 51, was arrested June 4 after a traffic stop at American Way and U.S. Highway 6&50 on suspicion of possessing a Schedule II controlled substance.

■ Matthew Dunham, 27, was arrested and released on a summons June 5 on suspicion of shoplifting items valued at less than $50 from Walmart, 2545 Rimrock Ave.

■ Esau Matus, 18, and Alycia Vasquez, 19, were arrested and released on summonses Saturday night at 15th Street and Orchard Avenue on suspicion of possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

■ Oliver Vanderlinden, 22, was arrested and later released on a summons Sunday morning on suspicion of unlawfully remaining at a location in the 400 block of Tanner Street.

■ Katelyn Fink, 20, was arrested and released on a summons Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of shoplifting items valued at less than $50 from Walmart, 2545 Rimrock Ave.

■ Richard Kollasch, 61, was arrested and released on a summons Wednesday morning after a traffic stop at 24 Road and U.S. Highway 6&50 on suspicion of driving with a canceled license.

According to the Fruita Police Department:

■ A vehicle valued at $5,000 was stolen from the 1300 block of East Carolina Avenue on June 1; it was later recovered with damage.

■ Someone stole property valued at $400 from a vehicle parked in the 1300 block of Sagittarius Street on June 1.

■ Tools valued at less than $1,00 were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Ribbon Court on June 1.

■ A bicycle valued at $150 was stolen from the Fruita Community Center on June 2.

■ Douglas Doyal, 51, was arrested after an accident at 19 Road and U.S. Highway 6&50 on June 3 on suspicion of careless driving, prohibited use of a weapon and driving with a revoked license.

■ A 15-year-old boy was issued a summons June 4 on suspicion of stealing a skateboard valued at $140 from the Fruita Community Center.

■ A 13-year-old boy was issued a summons June 5 on suspicion of shoplifting items valued at less than $100 from City Market

■ An adult woman walked onto 19 Road June 5 and was struck by a motorcycle.
