Standoff suspect identified
Mesa County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of a man involved in a standoff with authorities on Wednesday.
Chad Walker Evans, 23, of Delta, was booked into Mesa County Jail on charges of second-degree burglary, theft, robbery, identity theft, second-degree aggravated motor vehicle theft, second-degree criminal trespassing and driving with a canceled driver’s license.
After being arrested Wednesday, the suspect in a burglary at a home near Little Park Road refused to identify himself, authorities said. After being fingerprinted, officials with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation determined that Evans is the suspect.
Glade Park woman missing
Search and rescue officials continued to comb areas in Glade Park on Thursday night after an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s disease was reported missing about 10 a.m., according to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Department.
Patricia Osberg, 78, lives in Glade Park, authorities said.
Scanner reports indicated that searchers received a radio transmission from her from a locator that she may be wearing. Searchers spent Thanksgiving searching for the woman using all-terrain vehicles, a helicopter and tracking dogs, according to radio traffic.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department did not release an activity report or a booking summary report Thursday.
The Grand Junction Police Department did not release an activity report Thursday.
