Meth alleged in arrest
Robert Cobridge, 31, and a female companion were riding their bicycles near the intersection of Mulberry Street and Ouray Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Friday when a Grand Junction Police Department patrol officer observed the bikes were not equipped with required lighting, the police department reported.
During a traffic stop, Cobridge allegedly volunteered to open a case containing a plastic bag with a white powdery substance suspected to be methamphetamine inside and a syringe. When police spotted the bag, Cobridge reportedly tried to swallow it but was stopped, according to police.
Cobridge was booked into Mesa County Jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, tampering with evidence, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Assault with vodka bottle
A 34-year-old Clifton man was booked into Mesa County Jail Friday on suspicion of second-degree assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly hit another man in the face with a bottle of vodka, according to the Grand Junction Police Department.
Witnesses told police Roy R. Helton was yelling near an apartment in the 300 block of Chipeta Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. Oct. 8 when a man who lived nearby stepped out of his apartment and told Helton to leave the property, according to a report.
Helton allegedly kicked the man and then hit him in the face with the bottle before attempting to walk away as police arrived. The man told police he believed his jaw was broken during the encounter, the report said.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Tyler Sackse, 26, and Derek Cuppett, 20, were detained by police around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 26 based on active warrants for their arrest. During a search of Cuppett in the 800 block of Hall Avenue, police found less than 2 grams of controlled substances on his person.
■ Cory Lupton, 18, was issued a summons shortly before 7:30 p.m. Thursday on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia in the 1100 block of Mesa Avenue.
■ Cierra Warehan, 20, was issued a summons shortly before midnight Thursday on suspicion of consuming alcohol in the 1100 block of Mesa Avenue.
■ A known male sustained serious injuries during an assault in the 2700 block of Unaweep Avenue shortly after 4:30 a.m. Saturday. An investigation into the incident continues.
■ Christian Collins, 18, and Logan Bruss, 18, were both issued a summons shortly before 12:30 a.m. Friday on suspicion of possessing marijuana in the 1100 block of Mesa Avenue.
According to the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office:
■ Jade Diego Maldonado, 35, was booked into the Mesa County Jail Sunday on suspicion of theft, contempt of court and failure to appear.
■ Patrick James McDonald, 27, was booked into the Mesa County Jail Sunday on suspicion of third degree assault, domestic violence, repeated insults and taunts and criminal mischief.
■ Ryan Patrick Duckworth, 31, of Grand Junction, was booked into the Mesa County Jail Sunday on suspicion of retaliating against a witness or victim, tampering with a witness or victim, assault in the third degree, harassment, domestic violence, violation of bail-bond conditions and violation of a protective order.
■ William Bud Love, 26, of Grand Junction was booked into the Mesa County Jail Saturday on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer, driving while revoked as a habitual offender, lane usage violation and parole violation.
■ Dennis Michael Smith, 44, of Grand Junction was booked into the Mesa County Jail Saturday on suspicion of driving under the influence, aggravated driving a motor vehicle while revoked and open container in vehicle.
■ Phillip Andrew Tino, 48, was booked into the Mesa County Jail Friday on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a suspended license.
■ Heather Carisa Hart, 36, was booked into the Mesa County Jail Friday on suspicion of unlawful distribution, manufacturing, dispensing, sale or possession of a controlled substance.
