CMU’s Ambler wins 600 meters

Cathryn Ambler of Colorado Mesa won the women’s 600-meter run Saturday in the Colorado School of Mines Twilight Open indoor track and field meet in Golden.

Ambler finished in 1 minute, 38.09 seconds, winning by more than two seconds. Whitney Rowe finished fifth in the women’s 60-meter dash (7.74 seconds) and Amy Austin was fifth (1:02.67) in the women’s 400 dash.

Ariel Ambler placed fifth in the 800 meters (2:26.82), Emy Ludwig fifth in the women’s 200 meters (28.56), Keila Utu fifth in the shot put (36 feet, 1.5 inches) and Sierra Geroux third in the high jump (5-1).

The women’s 1,600 relay team of Ariel and Tiffany Ambler, Sara Speedlin and Jordanne Steege was fifth (4:25.22).

For the CMU men, Cameron Morley placed fifth in the 600 meters (1:38.40), Ethan Baier third in the high jump (6-0.75), Justin Wallace fifth in the long jump (21-10.25) and Stephan Fisher was third (42-5.25) and Wallace fifth (42-3.25) in the triple jump.
