Where did you grow up?
I was born in LaGrange Park, Ill., but then spent most of my growing up years in Thousand Oaks, Calif. We lived about 45 minutes from Malibu Beach and I spent many a weekend playing in the sunshine with friends and family. My husband and I moved to Grand Junction in 1979.

Family:
I am married to my best friend, Peter Dinnel, who now works on our team as a buyer’s agent. He just retired from the Post Office after 30 years and this is his new career! We have three children; Cara, Kyle and Garrett, and three beautiful grandchildren.

What do you enjoy most about living in the Grand Junction area?

What’s not to love… this is such a fantastic place to live. As everyone knows there are countless outdoor activities to enjoy. The people are fantastic. The four seasons are still such a pleasure even after being here for more than 33 years.  We feel so blessed to have raised our family here. We love to ride bikes, hike, camp, and just enjoy the beauty of Western Colorado.

How long have you worked in real estate?
I earned my real estate license in March of  2006. In 2009 I teamed up with Rhonda Bever and we formed  The Grand Junction Real Estate Team.

Do you have any accreditations or certifications?
Yes of course, most real estate agents do, but the big one for me is the certification called L.I.F.E. Life experiences are some of the best lessons and the ones I am talking about are the ones you learn and grow from. I believe those are the accreditations that count most. Because my background is so diverse I have the ability to convey complex information clearly which is a true gift when dealing with the complicated world of real estate.

What is the most unique property you have listed 
or sold.

Well each one is so unique in its own way, but what comes to mind is a short sale I sold to a young family who time after time were faced with multiple deadlines and with each deadline came the worry of the house being auctioned off by the bank at the Public Trustees office. It was nerve-racking waiting to find out if they were going to be able to get this house. They eventually did close on the home after persevering the banks multiple threats. All parties involved were so grateful to see this family in their new home.

to buy a home today?

What do you see in the future of real estate sales/prices?
We see the number of transactions are increasing. In the month of March there were 338 new residential listings that came on the market. In the same time frame there were 197 single family homes sold. When we calculate the absorption rate it shows we have just over four months of inventory.  A balanced market is six months of inventory. This is a change in our marketplace. If the house is priced correctly we are seeing that the seller is getting approximately 98 percent of the asking price ...( if priced correctly).

Why should someone use you as a real estate agent?
Experience is the key word here. As I mentioned before we know the market, we understand what it takes to have a successful transaction. There are so many key people involved in every transaction and we value and respect each player in the transaction.  We help a lot of buyers and sellers with their real estate needs and because of the volume our team does, we understand the steps it takes to make the transaction seamless.
