Palisade High graduate’s art on exhibit in Italy

Dmitri Obergfell, a graduate of Palisade High School, will present a solo exhibition March 16 through May 11 at Galleria Upp in Venice, Italy.

Obergfell was a student of Grand Valley artist Vera Mulder and also graduated from the Rocky Mountain Academy of Art.

His show is titled “The Visigoths” and will display “graphite sculptures that are used to make drawings on the wall,” according to an email from Obergfell’s grandma, Sally Porter.

The gallery’s website is galleriaupp.com.

Photo gallery features foster kids at Mesa Mall

Heart Gallery, a display of professionally taken photos of children from across the state who are in foster care and have been waiting the longest for an adoptive family, can be seen through Tuesday, April 2, at the Mesa Mall in the Target wing in the former Bonworth location.

In Mesa County, there are approximately 20 children each year who become available for adoption through the Mesa County Department of Human Services and are in need of a permanent and stable home. These children are generally older than 7 and may have developmental, medical or other special needs. They may be part of a sibling group or have ethnically diverse backgrounds.
