Peach trees are abundant in the Grand Valley.

The Grand Valley has everything it takes to successfully grow crops, but peaches and grapes especially thrive here and make the area a favorite with those who know their fruit and wine.

The Orchard Mesa and Palisade areas are full of local farmers producing fruits and vegetables and tours can be found at eight orchards and farms and six vineyards and wineries in and around Palisade in addition to the Palisade Brewery and Peach Street Distillers.

The Palisade area also hosts 75 percent of Colorado’s premium wine grape vineyards. The area is known for its chardonnay, Merlot, cabernet sauvignon and sauvignon blanc.

Most orchards and wineries offer tours and have products available for purchase on their grounds.

For those enthusiastic about their food and wine, an event not to be missed is Colorado Mountain Winefest set for Sept. 15–18 in Palisade. Go to for information.
