Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Oak Ridge, Tenn., the “Atomic Energy Capitol of the World.” My father, who worked for the Atomic Energy Commission, relocated our family there in 1964, as the area provided excellent choices in education. I am the youngest of four children with one sister and two brothers, all proud graduates of the University of Tennessee.
My husband and business partner, Harry, and I have three children in college. Our oldest daughter, Netana, is in medical school in Parker, Colo. Chad, our son, is a senior at CU studying aerospace engineering. Avivah, our youngest daughter, attends the Wharton School of Economics at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
What do you enjoy most about living in the Grand Junction area?
After an extensive nationwide search, our family moved to Grand Junction in 2001 to enjoy the outdoors 365 days of the year. We have not been disappointed! Our family has skied almost every resort in the state, ridden every road and mountain bike trail in the county, hiked, camped and climbed throughout Western Colorado and Moab. There are still hundreds of items on our ‘to do’ list. The Grand Junction area has a wonderful sense of community involvement. Raising our family here has been an incredible experience and we consider ourselves lucky to be here. We have truly found our “little piece of heaven.”
How long have you worked in real estate?
After years of being a stay at home mom, I started in real estate in 2002. In 2005, Harry and I formed 1st Choice Real Estate CO, Inc.
What would you consider your specialty?
My specialty is residential real estate. I have sold everything from a $67,000 double wide to multiple homes over $800,000 this year alone. One key to my success has been selling the lifestyle here in the Grand Valley.

The most gratifying aspect of my job is seeing my clients smile at closing. Knowing I have helped them with one of the most important transactions in their life is extremely satisfying to me.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy a home today?
The one tip I have for anyone looking to buy a home today is to not be impatient. Keep looking until you find the property that feels like home!
What is one tip you have for someone looking to sell a home today?
I always tell sellers that first impressions are incredibly important and the Internet is usually where that first impression is made. Crisp and clear photographs have a positive impact on potential buyers.
What do you see in the future of real estate sales/prices?
The decline in foreclosures in the marketplace has created a rise in prices across all values. As long as lending rates remain at the current low levels, prices should continue to rise.
Why should someone use you as a real estate agent?
The reason my clients choose me is that I provide them with a high level of personal service. I am dedicated to keeping them informed throughout the buying/selling process. I credit the success of 1st Choice Real Estate to a high percentage of referrals and return business. Real estate is my passion and “Providing the personal service you deserve” is my promise.
