Where did you grow up?
I was born in Michigan and moved to Grand Junction when I was 8 years old. I really consider myself a Grand Valley native and call Grand Junction my home - I graduated from high school and college here, married my husband and we proudly plan to continue raising our daughter here. I feel so fortunate to call Grand Junction my home.
I met my husband, Robert in Spanish class in high school, and the rest was history - we have been married 24 years and have one amazing 11 year old daughter, Grace.
What do you enjoy most about living in the Grand Junction area?
I would live no other place than the grand valley. I love that we live in a year-round outdoor wonderland with an abundance of beauty and recreation right at our doorstep. As a family we have enjoyed camping with friends, ATV riding, hiking, and boating in Lake Powell.
How long have you worked in real estate?
I started a career in real estate 8 years ago, and it was the best career decision I have ever made. My husband and I have also owned a few businesses, and I worked for Mesa County for 10 years prior to my career in real estate.
What would you consider your specialty?
I enjoy the variety of all types of real estate, but I would have to say my speciality, and favorite aspect is helping families buy and sell their residential homes. It is very gratifying to use my knowledge and expertise to help people achieve their financial goals and realize their dreams.
Do you have any accreditations or certifications?
Yes, I hold a CRS designation (Certified Residential Specialist), an ABR designation (Accredited Buyer’s Representative), and a CDPE designation (Certified Distressed Property Expert). I also hold a B.S. degree in Management.
What is the most challenging/ gratifying aspect of what you do?
We live in a historically volatile economic area. We have experienced several “Boom/Bust” cycles, so it is always a challenge, yet a privilege, to help my clients navigate through the current market so they can make sound financial decisions.
What is the most unique property you’ve ever listed or sold?
This last summer I had the opportunity to list and sell a beautiful, remote 500+ acre ranch on Hwy 141 toward Gateway. It was gorgeous and isolated. I used my ATV to take clients to tour the property, wildlife, etc. It was so incredible.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy a home today?
With any real estate transaction, it is crucial to take the pulse of the current market by familiarizing yourself with recent sales prices and current listing pricing so that you know you pay a fair price. An experienced, knowledgeable agent will be able to provide you this detailed information and help you make a wise investment.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to sell a home today?
To sell a home in today’s market, you need smart, current marketing techniques and savvy. You need to be able maneuver and manage on-line exposure to reach the wide majority of buyers today who start their home search on the internet.
What do you see in the future of real estate sales/prices?
Ideally, we want to see a slow, steady and healthy growth in our local economy. This will hopefully give us the confidence to make long-term investments and hopefully help to lessen the likelihood of the devastating losses that come along with the economic busts. The last year has shown signs of this steady growth in volume, which if continued should inevitably start to steadily improve home values. But it still may take a while.
Why should someone use you as a real estate agent?
I work by referral. I work hard for my clients with honestly, integrity and knowledge of our market. My clients are my clients for life, and by treating them with the service they deserve, they in turn trust me by referring me to their friends, family and turn to me again for their own future real estate needs.
