Nordic Council seeks volunteers

If you’ve been among the fortunate many enjoying the well-groomed ski and snowshoe trails at Skyway, County Line or Ward Lake trailheads, you know by now the work is provided by the non-profit Grand Mesa Nordic Council.

What you might not know is how to repay the council, provided you’ve already donated a few bucks now and then or have joined the group.

A recent e-mail from the Nordic Council (one of the benefits of membership along with regular trail-grooming updates) noted the council “is in process of revising our vision and (is) identifying new opportunities that we hope to provide soon.”

To provide those opportunities, however, the council needs help from you.

WHO: Volunteers needed to support the Grand Mesa Nordic Council.

WHAT: The opportunities include (but aren’t limited to) helping with races and special events, trail work, coaching, advertising, fund raising, etc.

WHERE: Mostly on Grand Mesa at one of the three trailheads.

WHEN: To be determined by your enthusiasm.

HOW: Contact the Grand Mesa Nordic Council volunteer coordinator at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
