Those who are looking for a newer, large home on small acreage, but don’t necessarily want to deal with HOA rules or longer commutes might want to look at this week’s unique property at 2545 G 3/8 Road.
The home was custom built in 2008, and has more than 6,400 square feet on almost two acres. It includes many architectural details and finishes, like the custom wood trim, doors and doorways, the stained glass windows, textured walls and ceiling details. It’s a home for a western Colorado lifestyle, with three outdoor entertaining areas, a trophy hall for successful hunting trips, a game room with a wet bar, a huge kitchen with both formal and informal eating and entertaining areas, and a barn with a separate meat locker and processing space. If prospective buyers aren’t hunters, but would like to be able to raise a few chickens or have a big garden, there’s plenty of space for that, too.
The home was built into the side of the hill, with all the main living areas, along with a gorgeous master suite, on the main floor. There’s a gas fireplace in the great room, which also has extra tall windows that face the views to the south. The great room is open to the formal dining room, which is large enough for a table set for 12.
An office with built-in book shelves, plenty of natural lighting, stained glass windows in the door and gorgeous faux painted walls next to the entryway gives homeowners a convenient place to run the house, run a business or just manage life.
The kitchen is a great space, with lots of gorgeous granite countertop areas for working. The island in the middle of the kitchen has a five-burner gas stove top, and there are two wall ovens, a Bosch dishwasher and a microwave. There’s also bar space and room for three bar stools. There’s a casual eating space and sitting area on the back side of the kitchen, with doorways to two different outdoor spaces.
The large master suite is on the opposite side of the house, and it has access to a great outdoor deck, along with two walk-in closets and a five-piece master bath.
Downstairs, there’s a game room with plenty of room for a pool table and a few poker tables, along with a wet bar. Because the basement is a walk-out, there are doors that open out to the lower patio from the game room. One of the downstairs bedrooms is a complete guest suite, and there’s also a home theater and the long trophy hall that could also be a great space for exercise.
Upstairs, there’s another common area that would make a great children’s play area, and two additional bedrooms.
The outside areas are as spacious and functional as the inside. The entire acreage is landscaped, with trees, shrubbery and lawn, and there are several built-in raised bed garden spots that aren’t currently in use. There’s a rustic-looking barn on the property that’s been used as an area to process wild game, and it also has a meat locker. A fenced area next to the barn would be great for pets, chickens or 4-H animal projects.
The house is tucked away on a little-known road in the north area, but is within minutes to Mesa Mall, Community Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital, Colorado Mesa University and is less than two miles from Canyon View Park. The airport is about four miles from the home, which makes it convenient for business travel.
Kristie Gerber and Ian Gallegos with Keller Williams are co-listing this five-bedroom, five-bath home on for $865,000.
