Palisade Bike Festival

You can grind it out or leisurely pedal through the pastoral Palisade area with the Palisade Bike Festival on Saturday, June 9.

The festival’s Grand Mesa Grind has three race courses: The Full Grind, 44 miles up the slopes of Grand Mesa; Sport Course, 24 miles; and Beginner Course, 20 miles.

The races will start from Palisade’s Town Center Plaza, Third and Main streets, with those on The Full Grind leaving at 8 a.m. and the other two races beginning at 10 a.m.

If you’re more interested in the leisure option, then take the Fruit & Wine Byway Tour, which also has three course options for cyclists of varying abilities.

Registration for all the events can be made at http://www.rapidcreekcycles.com or http://www.palisadecoc.com, or Center Plaza on Saturday.

Following the races and tours, there will be a barbecue and awards presentation at Palisade Brewing Co. and children can keep busy with a short race and a Bump ‘n’ Jump.

For information, go to the websites, or call Rapid Creek Cycles at 464-9266 or the Palisade Chamber of Commerce at 464-7458.
