Where did you grow up, and how long have you lived in Mesa County?
I was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  My family wanted to get away from the cold winters, so we moved to Southern California.  I grew up in Beverly Hills, and graduated from Beverly Hills High School, then later moved to Newport Beach, where I met and married my husband, Hap.  We moved to Colorado in 1990, and have lived happily in Palisade ever since.

Family:
My husband Hap, our two, very spoiled, Golden Retrievers (Petey and Gigi) and three horses.

What do you enjoy about living in Mesa County?
The blue skies and clean air, small town feel, the good friends we have met, and so many great places to explore and hike with our dogs.

What was your career prior to moving to Grand Junction?
My favorite job prior to moving to Grand Junction, was working in the entertainment industry.  I was a legal secretary for a law firm that represented artists and entertainers.  Occasionally, a client would decide to do a television series.  I would travel between our office in Beverly Hills and Paramount Studios where I helped out on the set, and hung out with the cast and crew.  That was a lot of fun.

How long have you been in real estate, and what would you consider to be your specialty?
I’ve been a Realtor in Mesa County for 20 years.  I specialize in horse properties, orchards/vineyards, and residential real estate.

Do you have any accreditations or certifications?
I have my CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), CNE (Certified Negotiation Expert) and GRI (Graduate of the Realtor Institute)

What is the most unique property you’ve ever listed or sold?
That’s easy… a property known as “Horsethief Canyon Ranch”.  My client was looking for a very unique, and private property with Colorado River frontage.  I could not find anything in our multiple listing service that suited his request.  One afternoon I happened to be looking at a Denver newspaper, and noticed a very unique property for sale in Grand Junction.  So, I called the listing agent, we showed the property to my buyer, and he fell in love with it, and bought it.  Unbelievably, the following year, I re-listed the property, and sold it again!  This is truly one of the most unique, and beautiful properties I’ve had the good fortune to have been involved with.  However, I do know of others!

What is the one tip you have for someone wanting to buy or sell a home today, and why should they choose you as their Realtor?
Select an experienced, full time Realtor, who can help you by guiding you through the entire process of buying or selling a home.  Look for a Realtor that is knowledgeable about the area and type of property you are looking for, and who works well with other Realtors, lenders,  inspectors, handymen, etc.  Most importantly, choose someone who you feel you can trust, who will work hard for you, and have some fun in the process!  If you choose me, I will do my very best to make it a great experience for you.  I know this is a very important decision.

Any final comments?
Interest rates and housing are still at record lows, and real estate is always a great place to invest your money.  If you are considering buying or selling, please give me a call.  Thank you!
