Continuing their tradition of giving, the owners of Major Mortgage are hosting their second annual Major Mortgage Cares Auction. “It’s going to be a Major Mortgage Country Jam themed online auction in an effort to raise money for Kids Aid Feeding Friends Backpack Program,” said Ryar Hayward, Major Mortgage president.
Kids Aid delivers food filled backpacks every Friday to Mesa County School District 51 students who are in need of a little assistance.
“Many children go hungry on the weekend because their parents are at work, are absent due to their own addictions, or simply don’t have enough money. Oftentimes, the last meal these children have is Friday’s school lunch, and they don’t eat again until lunch on Monday. The Feeding Friends Backpack Program attempts to bridge that gap,” said Mike Berry, Kids Aid executive director.
The online fundraising auction will begin Thursday, May 1 and run through Thursday, May 15 at 5 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to bid on a Major Mortgage Country Jam package, including two 4-day reserve-seating tickets and a campsite. “We had great success last year with our auction and our goal is to raise even more money for Kids Aid this year,” said Bri Renzi, Major Mortgage vice president. 100 percent of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Kids Aid program.
