Where did you grow up?
Visalia, Calif. – a small town much like Grand Junction.  I have lived here 21-plus years and it’s always felt like home.

I have been married to Roger Basinger for 23 years.  He is an elementary school teacher. After graduating from Fresno State we decided to settle in his hometown of Grand Junction to start our family.  We have two sons, Cody a senior and Jake a junior at Fruita Monument High School.

What do you enjoy most about living in the Grand Junction area?
My extended family!  We are related to over 150 people in the valley and I feel fortunate to have raised my kids with their grandparents and MANY aunts, uncles, cousins and second cousins.

How long have you worked in real estate?

21-plus years.  I worked as a property manager for two years and then became a commercial real estate assistant for four years before I began selling residential properties.

What would you consider your specialty?
Residential real estate, which includes condos and townhomes, single-family homes and small acreage properties.  I’m in my 15th year of selling residential properties.  It’s my passion!

What is the most challenging/ gratifying aspect of what you do?
I love meeting new people and hearing their stories; where they’ve been and where they’re going.

Describe your most memorable real estate transaction.
I once sold a $1 million farm & ranch property.  The indoor riding arena was as valuable as the home. You gotta love those country people!

What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy a home today?
It’s smart.  You won’t regret getting these interest rates.

What is one tip you have for someone looking to sell a home today?
Clutter eats equity!

Why should someone use you as a real estate agent?
Mainly because of my experience.  My varied background and knowledge can benefit a buyer or a seller.  When you love what you do, you’re good at it!
