Send ski season out with a bang at Telluride party

The crowd goes wild, or at least exuberant, as another finisher crosses the line during Telluride Ski Resort’s annual Fool’s Relay Race during season-ending festivities last spring. The resort celebrates the end of the 2013-14 season with the Mountain Town Get Down today, Fool’s Relay Race on Monday and Closing Day Party on April 6.

If you’re a skier or rider, the first half of April is one big April Fool’s joke.

The rush was supposed to start today with the season finale at Powderhorn Mountain Resort. The resort announced Saturday it will have a bonus weekend April 5-6.

Powder hounds need to move fast to keep up with resort closings.

So little time to store memories for the off-the-snow season just ahead.

Telluride is making it easy to have at least one more good memory, and that’s no joke. The resort closes April 6 but isn’t going away with a whimper, with a week’s worth of events planned.
