Where were you born? How long have you lived in the Mesa County area? What do you like most about it?
I was born in California, but have lived in Mesa County off and on since my parents moved here in 1974 to raise our family. After high school I moved to Breckenridge, then to Denver and eventually made my way back to the Grand Valley. I find the Grand Valley an ideal place to live and raise my family — there are abundant recreational and outdoor opportunites, as well as our moderate climate.
How long have you worked in real estate?
I began my real estate career in 2004 working as an assistant, obtained my broker’s License in 2005 and my managing brokers License in 2011.
What did you do before that?
I worked as a bookkeeper and in sales when I lived on the eastern slope. When my son was younger, I became a daycare provider so I could be home with him while I worked.
What is your specialty and what does that mean for the people you work with?
I’m considered a residential specialist, i.e. I help people buy and sell homes. I am well versed in the housing market in Mesa County having closed over $11 million in residential sales in 2011. I know how to get my buyers and sellers to the closing table.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy a home?
Know your options. Are you an FHA, cash or conventional buyer, an investor buyer or a first time buyer? I love helping first time buyers buy through special HUD programs. I help each buyer find out what special programs, loans and/or interest rates are available to them so we make informed choices.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to sell a home?
Take good care of your investment. Buyers know a home that has been well maintained and updated when they see it, and this typically means more money in the seller’s pocket.
Why should someone choose you as their real estate agent?
I am a full-time realtor and dedicated professional. I stay on top of the real-estate market, serve on the MLS committee and currently chair the Independent Brokers weekly marketing meeting so I stay connected and informed.
What do you most enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I am a huge sports fan and a true soccer mom. We not only travel all over the state to attend soccer matches, but all around the western region. Fortunately for me, technology lets me take my business with me no matter where I am.
Any final thoughts?
I feel extremely fortunate to live in this community and operate my own unique real-estate office. I thoroughly enjoy working with other realtors in the Grand Valley and the surrounding region. I would like to thank all my clients for entrusting me with their real estate needs.
