Barnelopet is Saturday on Grand Mesa

The Sons of Norway and the Grand Mesa Nordic Council are hosting the 11th annual Barnelopet ski day Saturday at the Skyway Nordic ski area on Grand Mesa.

It’s a morning of free events for young skiers ages 3-16 with free lessons, fun races and refreshments.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. in the Skyway parking lot.

Free Nordic skiing lessons are from 11 a.m. until noon followed by several fun races at noon.

Prizes, hot drinks and snacks also are free.
