Palisade wind ensemble qualifies for state concert

On March 4, Palisade High School sponsored the Colorado Bandmasters Association Western Slope Regional Concert Band Festival for 16 Colorado bands.

The Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble from Palisade High School each earned a superior rating from the judges, the highest rating a band can earn at this festival. The Wind Ensemble also qualified to perform at the CBA State Concert Band Festival scheduled April 15-16 at Colorado State University. This is the first time Palisade has qualified a music group for the state festival since 2004.

Twenty-eight bands out of 82 who attempted to qualify for the state festival this year succeeded in earning a spot at the state competition.
