This week in the Legislature, Jan. 14, 2013
This is the first full week of the 2013 session of the Colorado General Assembly.
While some bills will come before some committees, primarily the first two weeks of a legislative session are dedicated to departmental briefings.
That’s when each of the 10 standing committees in both the House and the Senate get detailed information about what various things state agencies have been up to the past year.
■ Next week: The House Transportation and Energy Committee will hear a bill designed to limit the number of specialty license plates issued by the Motor Vehicle Division in the Colorado Department of Revenue.
The same panel will hear a bill that would require the Colorado Public Utilities Commission director to issue a report on pending rate hike cases.
All floor action and committees can be watched or heard on the Legislature’s website, http://www.leg.state.co.us.
