Where did you grow up?
Cheryl was born in Grand Junction, Randy moved here in 1977.  After we married, we moved to Dallas then San Diego. After six years we moved back here in 1990 with our 3-year-old son,  Tony.

When did you start Tile Meister?
We opened up our tile showroom in 1994 in Palisade. Moved to Grand Junction in 2004.  Purchased Infinity Surfaces in 2010.

How has the industry changed since you got started?
As our population ages, one of our major concerns is making sure our customers  “Age in Place.” We offer walk-in tubs, walk-in showers and barrier-free Showers. We stress the importance of grab bars — safety comes first.

What should consumers look for when considering purchasing a new or used home?
If they are planning to stay in their home for a long time, we suggest looking at the layout. Are there stairs? Is there a bedroom or  bathroom with a walk-in shower on the main floor. What about the entrance — can a ramp be installed?

Are you doing more remodels or new homes these days?
Definitely remodels. Remodels are where we excel! We are working in somebody’s home. We must show up on time, be clean and respectful. Complete the job on time. Check out our  ‘Angie’s List” comments. We work hard for those.

How is it working with so many family members?
As you can imagine, we have our moments.  But with one goal in mind — customer satisfaction. At the end of the day we are truly blessed to be working with the ones we love.

What do you enjoy when you’re not working?
We like to travel when we can. Our son Tony & daughter-in-law Crystal have blessed us with a arandson. He has become our obsession.  Since we are a family-owned business, we sometimes have him here at the showroom..

What do you enjoy about living in western Colorado?
Anybody who chooses to live here knows that answer. Outdoor recreation, weather. It’s a small city with a big  heart. Mostly, our family is here.
