Design Directions

Wood adds warmth and class to any space and can very rarely be overdone.

The interior of the Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado Inpatient Facility has one the best examples of how wood can enrich your environment and add warmth.

Elegantly designed interiors go beyond carpet and paint. Many of our clients feel the interior of their home or business are lacking certain details. We get the phone call, we visit their home/business and most of the time they have white or a neutral wall color, neutral carpet, standard lighting, or they have spent a fortune on furniture and accessories. Furniture and accessories alone do not make your stand out; you need a balance of architectural details to give the feeling of a well designed space.

No matter what the size of your room, don’t forget all of the angles and look up, as in look up at a ceiling surrounded by rich sculpted crown molding or beams instead of never-ending white paint. Wood adds warmth and class to any space and can very rarely be overdone.  Do not worry about your woods matching, between the cabinets, furniture, and existing wood, pick the tone you like the best and go with it, it is perfectly OK to mix wood tones. Of course, depending on your style and budget, you can always paint your trims and moldings white or any neutral color, even black to create an
equal elegant look. If you are a do-it-yourself
kind of person, you can find a large selection of trims and mouldings at your local home improvement store or contact a designer, contractor or a custom woodworker to answer any questions.
