Aspen’s Beetham wins Indian Invite

Aspen’s Jesse Beetham shot even-par 71 on Thursday to win the Indian Invitational golf tournament at The Bridges Golf Club in Montrose.

The Skiers won the team title again, their fourth of the season so far, shooting a team score of 222. Montezuma-Cortez, with Jakob Rudosky finishing second one stroke behind Beetham, was second as a team at 228. Rifle was third at 230, followed by Montrose, Durango, Fruita Monument and Grand Junction all at 236.

Kolton Kyne of Montrose and Owen Parker, who was playing for the Indians’ JV team, tied for third at 74, along with Danny Bartels of Rifle and Hayden Plewe of Cortez.

Joey Saad shot a 76 for Fruita Monument to tie for ninth, with Garrett Fante leading the Tigers with an 80. Palisade’s Kyler Smith shot a 77 to lead the Bulldogs, who shot a 244. Central shot 256, led by Kyle Serrano and Nick Harvey, who each shot 85.
