Fire probed as arson
Grand Junction police opened an investigation after someone Monday night entered a parked vehicle at 547 U.S. Highway 50 and started a fire in the back seat, according to an incident report. The rear seat of the vehicle was burned and the rear window also sustained damage. The case was still under investigation Sunday.
According to the Grand Junction Police Department:
■ Scott Raffensperger, 54, and Yvette Dores, 47, were cited Friday on suspicion of trespassing at 248 S. Fourth Ave.
■ Rebecca Griego, 51, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of assault and obstructing a peace officer at 1010 Belford Ave.
■ Dean Patterson, 18, was cited Thursday on suspicion of underage possession of marijuana at Cannell and Elm avenues.
■ Herdia Shells, 61, was cited on suspicion of disorderly conduct after he allegedly caused a disturbance at the Mesa County Library, yelling profanities at library staff, according to a summons. Shells allegedly claimed he was targeted by library staff because he was wearing “daisy dukes and a hat.”
■ Jay Knaus, 21, was issued a ticket on suspicion of third-degree assault Friday after he allegedly hit a bouncer after being removed from Charlie Dwellington’s, 103 N. First St., according to a summons.
■ Blake Bach, 22, was cited on suspicion of disorderly conduct stemming from a fight between several individuals at Fifth and Main streets in the predawn hours of Aug. 18.
The Mesa County Sheriff’s Department did not release jail booking or activity reports on Sunday.
