Meth alleged in arrest
Two men were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of drug possession after Grand Junction police officers went to a home on Patterson Road in an attempt to arrest one of them on a warrant and found suspected methamphetamine inside the home.
Denis Jay Buniger, 42, 2615 Patterson Road, No. 5, and Mark Alan Muth, 43, 3239 D 1/2 Road, could face charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, child abuse and obstructing a peace officer, according to the Grand Junction Police Department. Buniger could face additional charges of being an accessory to a felony crime.
When officers arrived at the home, Buniger denied Muth was there, but police eventually found him inside and arrested him, according to an arrest affidavit. Buniger attempted to conceal a meth pipe and then struggled with officers when they attempted to handcuff him, the affidavit said.
Police said they found two children inside the home.
Men driving stolen truck
Two Clifton men were arrested Wednesday after they allegedly were found in possession of a stolen truck.
Leo Degario Tanori, 30, 424 32 Road, No. 94, and Eugene Lawrence Martinez, 30, 3084 1/2 Meadowvale Court, were jailed on suspicion of theft by receiving. Martinez could also face a charge of driving after revocation of his license.
Mesa County Sheriff’s Department deputies driving in the area of 32 Road and Rood Avenue said they found a group of people milling around a truck that had been stolen a couple of days earlier. Deputies drove around the block and confirmed with police dispatchers that the vehicle was stolen, then saw two men driving the vehicle on 32 3/8 Road, according to an arrest affidavit.
Deputies stopped the vehicle in Candlewood Trailer Park and arrested Tanori and Martinez, who were in the vehicle.

Someone entered a home in the 1200 block of Bunting Avenue on Wednesday and stole less than $1,000 in property.
