Mavs roll to title at Adams State

Mesa State had four of the top six individuals to easily win its first women’s golf tournament of the season, the Adams State Invitational on Tuesday at Cattails Golf Course in Alamosa.

The Mavericks shot 318 one day after shooting 318 for a two-round total of 637. Montana State-Billings took second with 660. Regis was third with 668.

Junior transfer Kristina Casillas led Mesa State with a two-round total of 155. She took second to Nebraska-Kearney’s Sara Wissing, who shot a 153.

Mesa’s Jennifer Hilts placed fourth at 159, Jessica Berve was fifth at 161 and Afton Balling was sixth at 162.
